There is a certain comfort in enjoying a song without knowing its context. This song is about a soap called omo. In my youth, I wondered how could a song about soap be so beautiful. I liked that I could relate to something as common as soap. After all, we used soap daily to wash dishes, clothes and ourselves. I enjoyed this song without knowing its artist or context. As an adult, I love this song because I know who Tabu Ley is. There is rich music history behind this song even though it is only about soap.
